【摘要】:ThepurposeofthistestmethodistoestimatetheSO3contentforahydrauliccementthatgivesmaximumcompressivestrengthinmortarmadeandcuredat23x00B0;C.ThevalueobtainedisusedtoestablishanappropriatelevelofsulfateinthemanufactureofcementsspecifiedinSpecificationsC150,C595andC1157.InSpecificationsC150andC595itisusedtojustifyexceedingtheprescriptivelimitsforSO3.TheSO3contentofacementgivingmaximumcompressivestrengthisdifferentatdifferentagesofmortar;typicallythisSO3contentishigherat3daysthanthe24-h,andoftenhigherfor7daysthanthatfor3days.Amanufacturercanchoosetheageof24-h,3daysor7daysforspecimensatwhichtodetermineoptimumSO3content.ThistestmethodindicatesoptimumSO3contentforcementinmortarmadeandcuredatastandardtemperatureof23.0x00B1;2.0x00B0;C(73.5x00B1;3.5x00B0;F).TheoptimumSO3increaseswithincreasingtemperatureandmayincreasewhenwater-reducingadmixturesareused.ItshouldnotbeassumedthattheoptimumSO3estimatedinthistestmethodisthesameSO3contentforoptimumperformanceofaconcretepreparedfromthecement.ThetestmethodisapplicabletocementsspecifiedinSpecificationsC150,C595,andC1157.1.1ThistestmethoddescribesthedeterminationofapproximateoptimumSO3formaximumcompressivestrengthat24h,3days,or7daysbymeasuringthechangeinstrengthproducedinhydrauliccementmortarasaresultofsubstitutingcalciumsulfateforaportionofthecement.1.2Thistestmethodreferstothesulfurtrioxide(SO3)contentofthecementonly.Slagcementsandoccasionallyotherhydrauliccementscancontainsulfideorotherformsofsulfur.ThedeterminationofSO3contentbyrapidmethodsmayincludetheseotherforms,andmaythereforeproduceasignificanterror.Ifasignificanterroroccurs,analyzethecementforSO3contentusingthereferencetestmethodofTestMethodsC114forsulfurtrioxide.1.3ValuesstatedasSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
