【摘要】:DescriptionofProcess8212;Magneticparticleexaminationconsistsofmagnetizingtheareatobeexamined,applyingsuitablypreparedmagneticparticleswhiletheareaismagnetized,andsubsequentlyinterpretingandevaluatinganyresultingparticleaccumulations.Maximumdetectabilityoccurswhenthediscontinuityispositionedonthesurfaceandperpendiculartothemagneticflux.Thispracticeestablishesthebasicparametersforcontrollingtheapplicationofthemagneticparticlemethod.Thispracticeiswrittensothatitcanbespecifiedontheengineeringdrawing,specification,orcontract.Itisnotadetailedhow-toproceduretobeusedbytheinspectorand,therefore,mustbesupplementedbyadetailedwrittenprocedurethatconformstotherequirementsofthispractice.1.1Thispracticeestablishesminimumrequirementsformagneticparticleexaminationusedforthedetectionofsurfaceorslightlysubsurfacediscontinuitiesinferromagneticmaterial.GuideE709canbeusedinconjunctionwiththispracticeasatutorial.Note18212;ThisPracticereplacesMIL-STD-1949.1.2Themagneticparticleexaminationmethodisusedtodetectcracks,laps,seams,inclusions,andotherdiscontinuitiesonornearthesurfaceofferromagneticmaterials.Magneticparticleexaminationmaybeappliedtorawmaterial,billets,finishedandsemi-finishedmaterials,welds,andin-serviceparts.Magneticparticleexaminationisnotapplicabletonon-ferromagneticmetalsandalloyssuchasausteniticstainlesssteels.SeeAppendixX6foradditionalinformation.1.3AllareasofthisPracticemaybeopentoagreementbetweentheCognizantEngineeringOrganizationandthesupplier,orspecificdirectionfromtheCognizantEngineeringOrganization.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
