【摘要】:Thepurposeofthispracticeistoensuresatisfactoryfitonstandardsizes,toaccommodateradialexpansionofpipesandtubeswhichareheatedafterbeinginsulated,andtominimizethenumberofinsulationsizesandthicknessestobemanufacturedandstocked.Whileinsulationmaybemanufacturedtotheserecommendeddimensions,careshouldbeexercisedinattemptingtonestlayersofdifferentmaterials,orlayerssuppliedbydifferentmanufacturers.Individualmanufacturingprocessesmayoperateatslightlydifferenttolerances.Whiletheproductwillfitthepipe,itmaynotreadilynestastheouterlayerbetweenthedifferentmaterialsorwithdifferentmanufacturers.Careshouldbeexercisedtodeterminethesedifferencesbeforespecifyingororderingnestingsizes.Dimensionsinaccordancewiththispracticepermitapplicationofonethicknessofpipeinsulationoveranother(NestingorSimplifiedDimensionalSystem),toobtaintotalthicknessesgreaterthanthosemanufacturedassinglelayer,orformultilayerapplicationwhendesired.1.1Thispracticeisintendedasadimensionalstandardforpreformedrigidthermalinsulationforpipesandtubing.1.2Thispracticecoversinsulationsuppliedincylindricalsections,usuallysplitintohalf-sections,andlistsrecommendedinnerandouterdiametersofinsulationhavingnominalwallthicknessesfrom1to5in.(25to127mm)tofitoverstandardsizesofpipeandtubing.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
