【摘要】:Purgeableorganiccompoundshavebeenidentifiedascontaminantsintreateddrinkingwater,wastewater,groundwater,andToxicityCharacteristicLeachingProcedure(TCLP)leachate.Thesecontaminantsmaybeharmfultotheenvironmentandtopeople.Purgeandtrapsamplingisagenerallyapplicableprocedureforconcentratingthesecomponentspriortogaschromatographicanalysis.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheidentificationandsimultaneousmeasurementofpurgeablevolatileorganiccompounds.Ithasbeenvalidatedfortreateddrinkingwater,wastewater,andgroundwater.Thistestmethodisnotlimitedtotheseparticularaqueousmatrices;however,theapplicabilityofthistestmethodtootheraqueousmatricesmustbedemonstrated.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoawiderangeoforganiccompoundsthathavesufficientlyhighvolatilityandlowwatersolubilitytobeefficientlyremovedfromwatersamplesusingpurgeandtrapprocedures.liststhecompoundsthathavebeenvalidatedforthistestmethod.Thistestmethodisnotlimitedtothecompoundslistedin;however,theapplicabilityofthetestmethodtoothercompoundsmustbedemonstrated.1.3Analyteconcentrationsuptoapproximately200956;g/Lmaybedeterminedwithoutdilutionofthesample.Analytesthatareinefficientlypurgedfromwaterwillnotbedetectedwhenpresentatlowconcentrations,buttheycanbemeasuredwithacceptableaccuracyandprecisionwhenpresentinsufficientamounts.1.4Analytesthatarenotseparatedchromatographically,butthathavedifferentmassspectraandnoninterferingquantitationions,canbeidentifiedandmeasuredinthesamecalibrationmixtureorwatersample.Analytesthathaveverysimilarmassspectracannotbeindividuallyidentifiedandmeasuredinthesamecalibrationmixtureorwatersampleunlesstheyhavedifferentretentiontimes.Coelutingcompoundswithverysimilarmassspectra,suchasstructuralisomers,mustbereportedasanisomericgrouporpair.Twoofthethreeisomericxylenesareexamplesofstructuralisomersthatmaynotberesolvedonthecapillarycolumn,andifnot,mustbereportedasanisomericpair.1.5Itistheresponsibilityoftheusertoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodforuntestedmatrices.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
