【摘要】:Thistestmethodisnotconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsoffabricsbecausethebetween-laboratoryprecisionofthetestmethodispoor(see15.1).Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalsignificantdifferencebetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,usethesamplesforsuchacomparativetestthatareashomogeneousaspossible,drawnfromthesamelotofmaterialasthesamplesthatresultedindisparateresultsduringinitialtestingandrandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratory.Thetestresultsfromthelaboratoriesinvolvedshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,ataprobabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifbiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorfuturetestingforthatmaterialmustbeadjustedinconsiderationofthestatisticallysignificantdifferences.Thistestmethodmaybeusedforqualitycontroltestingoffabricsduringmanufacturingandproductcomparisonsofdifferentfabricsbymanufacturers,retailers,andusers.Thistestmethodmayalsobeusedbyresearcherstoexaminetheeffectofnewfibers,yarns,fabricconstructions,andfinishesonthesnaggingresistanceoffabrics.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtotestthesnaggingresistanceofmostapparelandhomefurnishingsfabrics.However,adifferenttestmethodmaybeneededfordifferenttypesoffabricsanddifferentend-uses(suchastowels,pants,andupholstery)(see5.3.1).Somefabricsthatmaynotbesuitableforthistestmethodaredescribedin1.2.ManyopenconstructionfabricscanbetestedforsnaggingresistanceusingAATCCTestMethod65.ThesnaggingresistanceofmanypilefloorcoveringscanbetestedbyTestMethodD1335.TestMethodD5362(BeanBag)mayalsobeconsideredasanalternativefortestingthesnaggingresistanceoffabrics.ThistestmethoddoesnotapplytotheABCSnagTester.Sincefabricsnaggingcanbeaffectedbylaunderingordrycleaning,itmaybeadvisabletotestthesnaggingresistanceofafabricbeforeandafterlaunderingordrycleaning.Thesnaggingresistanceofaspecificfabricvarieswithindividualwearersandgeneralconditionsofuse.Therefore,itcanbeexpectedthatgarmentsofthesamefabricwillshowafairlywidesnaggingresistancespectrumafterwearandmuchgreatervariationinwearthaninreplicatefabricspecimenssubjectedtocontrolledlaboratorytests.Thisfactorshouldbeconsideredwhenadoptinglevelsofacceptabilityforanyspecificationthatincludessnaggingresistance.Snagsobservedinworngarmentsvaryappreciablyinnumberandappearance.Theappearanceofasnagdependsparticularlyon(1)thedegreeofcolorcontrastbetweenthesnagandthesurroundingareaofthefabricor(2)thepresenceoflongdistortionsorlongprotrusions.Theseconditionsarenotevaluatedwhensnaggingisratedsolelyonthenumberofsnags.SeeSection13foradescriptionofcolorcontrast,distortion,andprotrusionasusedinthistestmethod;andseeFigs.1through3inTestMethodD5362forpicturesoffabricdefectsduetosnagging.Becausetheoverallacceptabilityofaspecificfabricisdependentonboththecharacteristicsofthesnagsandotherfactorsaffectingfabricappearance,itisrecommendedthatfabricstestedinthelaboratorybeevaluatedwithregardtothedefectsthatmaybeobservedvisuallyandnotra......
